Budapest, The City is for All: We are not afraid of breaking laws for justice

The first court ruling about the sit-in that took place in October 2011 against the criminalization of homelessness – in which several members of The City is for All (AVM) took part – was announced today. According to the judge, the activists protesting criminalization are guilty of misdemeanor. The members of AVM our proud of what they did: if we need to, we will engage in civil disobedience again, and we encourage other groups of the democratic opposition to do the same.

Casas vacías y tristes en Donostia
Así lo han denunciado los colectivos Kepasakonlakasa y Stop Desahucios. Los representantes de estos dos colectivos han presentado el último censo de vivienda vacía en Gipuzkoa.
Algunas de las tomas de Riberas son de hace algunos meses, por tanto ya hay alguna vivienda más ocupada. Sin embargo, los datos del censo en el artículo debajo son actuales, y en Riberas quedan más de cien viviendas que se mantienen vacías para mantener los precios a un nivel abusivo, en lugar de ponerlos en alquiler social.

Участники кампании «Открой НАМА».временно оккупировали в Дублине здание НАМА (Агентство, созданное правительством Ирландии в декабре 2009 года для решения проблем банковского сектора, возникших в результате необдуманного кредитования сделок с недвижимостью – прим. пер.). Эта стало началом новой акции. Ее цель в том, чтобы сделать прозрачной деятельность Агентства, работа которого вызывает много вопросов. Протестующие требуют, чтобы пустующие здания, которыми занимается эта структура, были использованы в общественных целях и интересах муниципалитетов, чтобы был опубликован перечень всех объектов недвижимости НАМА. Они ставят под вопрос сложившуюся практику в сфере долговых обязательств. Эта Кампания получила полную поддержку ВСЖ.

Neighbourhoods taking action together / Istanbul claims the right to the city
On 28 and 29 January 2012, the city of Istanbul hosted two days of initiatives to launch the Zero Evictions Campaign. This is the first response to the Call signed by around one hundred inhabitants’ organizations, urban social movements, networks, professionals and prominent figures to discuss and organize resistance to neoliberal urban development projects likely to have a highly destructive effect on people’s lives.
