The day, decided by the Barcelona International Forum against evictions, reiterates the IAH campaign “Zero Evictions”, offering an alternative content to the World Day of Habitat proposed by the United Nations, that, rather than facing the widening gap between the Millennium development Goals
and the predicted increase of the shacked and of the precarious habitat condition (download and read the 'Report Task Force 8 Improving Lives Slum Dwellers' ,2004
), propose instead to celebrate “the cities, engines of rural development.”
