W Montfort Social Institute: at least 100 years more!
Dear Varghese Theckanath,
dear friends of
Montfort Social Institute
Hyderabad, India
You are celebrating today "only" your 10th birthday, but you have already gone a long way together with those are fighting for human rights and the environment, to promote social justice through the social liberation of the poor, the peace between nations through dialogue between peoples, against fundamentalism and racism, in your city, country, nation and internationally.
Therefore we are proud of you, active members of the International Alliance of Inhabitants, promoters of the struggles for the right to housing, land and the city, supporting the convergence and solidarity of the organizations of poor inhabitants, their networking, their political impact, their victories.
We are proud of you for your attention to training people, from an early age, to human rights and responsibility for the struggle for change, for your commitment against all forms of discrimination and in support of the rights of domestic workers.
Unfortunately we can not be with you to celebrate this special birthday of this growing "young adult".
We also all our wishes for you to travel with even greater determination and solidarity in this new phase of your life that you have chosen, with the value of your ideas and the strength of your social roots.
A common path that we call the Urban and Community Way and that will find us side by side to exchange, interact, collaborate and struggle.
Dear friends, ciao in solidarity, we all need you for at least another 100 years!
